Flux uitgebreid naar twintig luchthavens in Amerika

Met ingang van 24 augustus 2009 wordt het aantal luchthavens waar je in de Verenigde Staten als FLUX deelnemer geautomatiseerd de grens kan passeren uitgebreid, van zeven naar twintig.

FLUX biedt reizigers de mogelijkheid om zowel de Amerikaanse als de Nederlandse grens geautomatiseerd snel te passeren. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is de eerste luchthaven in Europa die meedoet aan FLUX. Sinds de start van het programma in april 2008 hebben zich 1800 mensen gemeld voor deelname aan dit unieke programma.

FLUX is een initiatief van het Nederlandse ministerie van Justitie en het Amerikaanse ministerie van Homeland Security. Aan Nederlandse zijde wordt het uitgevoerd door de Koninklijke Marechaussee, de Immigratie en Naturalisatie Dienst (IND) en Dartagnan (100% dochter van Schiphol Group). FLUX verbindt het Privium programma van Schiphol Group en het Amerikaanse Global Entry Progam van US Costums and Border Protection (CBP).

Uitbreiding luchthavens

Als FLUX deelnemer kon men al gebruik maken van de snelle grenspassagefaciliteiten op Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, John F Kennedy International Airport in New York, George Bush International Airport in Houston , Washington Dulles International Airport. Los Angeles International Airport, Miami International Airport en Hartsfield Jackson International Airport in Chicago.

Met ingang van 24 augustus 2009 komen daar nu de volgende luchthavens bij: San Francisco International Airport, California; Boston Logan International Airport, Massachusetts; Honolulu International Airport, Hawaii; Las Vegas McCarran International Airport, Nevada; Orlando International Airport, Florida; Sanford International Airport, Florida; Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Washington; Philadelphia International Airport, Pennsylvania; San Juan Munoz International Airport, Puerto Rico; Ft. Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, Florida; Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey; Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport, Texas en Detroit Metropolitan Airport, Michigan.

Deelname aan FLUX

Passagiers met een Amerikaanse of Nederlandse nationaliteit kunnen hun aanvraag voor FLUX in Amerika of in Nederland indienen. Zowel aan Amerikaanse als aan Nederlandse zijde worden de antecedenten van de aanvrager gecontroleerd. Passagiers waarvan de aanvraag is goedgekeurd, worden zowel lid van Privium als van het Global Entry Programma. Voor een FLUX lidmaatschap betaalt men 159 euro per jaar (exclusief het jaarlijkse Privumlidmaatschap en een éénmalig inschrijvingsbedrag van 100 euro).

Privium

Privium is het service programma van Schiphol Group waarmee reizigers veilig en snel door middel van irisidentificatie de grens kunnen passeren. Ook biedt het lidmaatschap voorrang bij het inchecken en de mogelijkheid om dicht bij de terminal te parkeren. Privium bestaat 8 jaar en telt op dit moment bijna 50.000 leden. Het Global Entry programma is onlangs gestart door het CBP voor snelle en geautomatiseerde grenspassage voor Amerikanen.

Dartagnan

Dartagnan is gespecialiseerd in de ontwikkeling en realisatie van grenspassages en 'registered traveler' programma's en heeft het FLUX-programma in nauwe samenwerking met de VS en NL autoriteiten ontwikkeld.. FLUX due to become available at 20 US airports

On 24 August 2009, the number of airports in the United States at which automated border passage is available to FLUX participants will increase from 7 to 20.

FLUX offers passengers the option of rapid, automated border passage with respect to both the American and Dutch borders. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is the first airport in Europe participating in FLUX. 1,800 people have registered for participation in this unique programme since its launch in April 2008.

FLUX is an initiative of the Dutch Ministry of Justice and American Department of Homeland Security. In the Netherlands, the programme is being implemented by the Dutch Military Police (Koninklijke Marechaussee), the Immigration and Naturalisation Service and Dartagnan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Schiphol Group. FLUX links the Privium programme of Schiphol Group with the American Global Entry Program of US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Expansion of FLUX service

FLUX participants are already able to make use of the rapid border passage facilities at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, George Bush International Airport in Houston, Washington Dulles International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Miami International Airport and Hartsfield Jackson International Airport in Chicago.

Participation in FLUX

US and Dutch nationals can submit their FLUX applications in the US or the Netherlands. The antecedents of an applicant are checked in both countries. A passenger whose application is approved becomes a member of both Privium and the Global Entry Program. FLUX membership costs 159 euros a year (excluding the annual fee for Privium membership and a non-recurring registration fee of 100 euros).

Privium

Privium is Schiphol Group's service programme which provides safe and rapid border passage to passengers by means of iris recognition. In addition, Privium membership confers priority status when checking in and the option of parking close to the terminal. The Privium programme has been running for 8 years and currently has almost 50,000 members. The Global Entry Program was recently launched by CBP to provide the option of rapid, automated border passage to US nationals.

Dartagnan

Dartagnan specialises in the development and realisation of border passage facilities and registered traveller programmes and set up the FLUX programme in close cooperation with US and Dutch authorities.
